We use freshly milled flour...

in everything we bake. Freshly milled flour contains the entire wheat berry, which means it has the natural vitamins and minerals as well as fiber and protein wheat is meant to have in it. Oh, and the flavor freshly milled flour adds to any baked good has no comparison!

Always sourdough...

There is so much research about the benefits of fermented foods, and sourdough is no slouch. A great probiotic for your gut health, in breaks down the gluten in wheat to make it easier to digest. It is also the leaven in all our breads, and adds to the flavor of all our products.

2025 Western Reserve Homesteading Summit Round-Up!

What a weekend at the 2025 Western Reserve Homesteading Summit! We had an overwhelming number of attendees at our class both days, great discussions, and very positive feedback. I'm looking forward to next year - maybe pizza and pasta?As promised, you will find our presentation with this post. First Virtual Farmstand of the year!

Our first Virtual Farmstand is here! Starting tomorrow morning, you can place an order for our breads, cinnamon rolls, cookies, donuts, and more for pick up at Advent Lutheran Church in Solon, Ohio next week Wednesday.

New year, and new start!

Fresh starts! Our trip to Italy was amazing and surreal. The good food and lots of walking were rejuvenating! I'm feeling great to get started on what is going to be a busy year!To start 2025 off on an upbeat note, I've been asked to do a breadmaking class for the 2025 Western Reserve Homesteading Summit at Lake Metropark January 18-19! I'm so excited and nervous, but it will be a great time. There are some big names speaking there, notable Joel Salatin. You can check out the specifics at Western Reserve Homestead Summit.Besides prepping for the summit, I have some business admin to accomplish, and a remodel of the bakery (yes, again) to better support current and future growth. I'm planning to do most all of the Chardon Farmer's Markets this year, starting in May, and expanding my product line to include donuts (yum!), focaccia, and some different flavors of bread. Getting things up and running

We had a great time at Christmas in the Barn at Avon UMC yesterday! It was great to see familiar faces and friends. We sold out of our sourdough and signature breads and had some good conversation about a gluten-free option in the new year!For those just visiting our site for the first time, we are still working on getting everything set up. The store will come online in January as we are taking a holiday break for the rest of December to enjoy with our families.
